From College Vibes to Career Drives
What a month. My podcast is on pause for now, but I’ve got three stellar episodes in the vault, set to drop soon on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. In the meantime, the job hunt— where networking feels like borderline stalking—has finally paid off.
A healthcare research company came across my LinkedIn post about the Hope-3 trial (which I’ve now been in for two years!) and reached out. Now, I’m stepping into a marketing specialist role—connecting hospitals and pharma companies to support off-site clinical trials. Working remotely will sharpen my self-starter skills—teaching myself new CRM software platforms and refining my multitasking abilities. This role, paired with my ongoing clinical trial work, puts my five-year goal of breaking into agency life within reach.
Outside of work, I took up adaptive skiing (TetraSki) for the first time since I was eight. It was going great—until I flipped the ski, broke my wrist, and landed on my helmet. They say, “Break a leg” for good luck—guess I took it literally.
As I sip my Tatte drip coffee and watch the Hope-3 infusion drip into my arm, I’m also embarking on another challenge: a three-month program to reset my relationship with cannabis. Back in college, my GPA was solid—a 3.49, thank you very much—but let’s be real, I still gave the Scott Galloway method a run. Homemade bongs and all.
In his TED Talk "How The US Is Destroying Young People’s Future," Scott Galloway reflects on his own college experience, saying, “I received a 2.23 GPA from UCLA. I learned nothing but how to make bongs out of household items and every line from Planet of the Apes.” His point? Higher education is about giving unremarkable kids a chance to become remarkable. While I wasn’t unremarkable—I worked hard—I'll admit I had my fun too. These days, I’m aiming for a more moderate approach —a strictly nighttime regimen to unwind, not a midday habit.
131 applications, a dozen interviews later, and I’m gearing up for an exciting remote journey from the Berkshires. Who knows—maybe NYC or Boston agency life is in the cards down the line. Until then, I’m all in.
